Origin Notes.
Jakarta, 2017.
Arneva was established as a response to a specific problem: the men's wellness content ecosystem was saturated with overclaim, anecdote, and commercially motivated simplification. The archive was built to counter this with dated, sourced, and auditable documentation.
Why Arneva Was Built
In 2017, a small group of Jakarta-based writers, nutritional researchers, and active-lifestyle practitioners observed a consistent pattern: publications in the men's wellness space were structurally incapable of being wrong. Claims were asserted without citations, advice was repeated without mechanism, and no publication appeared to track its own correction record.
Arneva was established to operate differently. The founding constraint was simple: every factual claim in every entry must be traceable to a citable source. If the source does not exist, the claim does not appear. If a better source invalidates an earlier conclusion, the earlier entry is amended and the amendment is logged.
That founding constraint has not changed. The archive now spans seven years, 280 entries, and 14 discrete focus domains. The correction log records 38 amendments since inception — each one regarded as a signal of the system working, not a failure.
What Arneva Stands For
Source Transparency
Every claim links to a citable source. Where evidence is limited or conflicting, the scope of the claim is explicitly bounded. Uncited assertions are not published.
Correction Culture
Amendments are published alongside original entries. The correction log is publicly accessible. Arneva tracks its own error rate as a quality indicator, not a liability.
Commercial Independence
No advertising, no affiliate revenue, no sponsored content. Operating costs are covered by the founding team. No external financial relationship influences editorial decisions.
Scope Limitation
Arneva documents wellness practices, not outcomes. The journal does not advise readers on specific personal decisions and does not provide individualised guidance of any kind.
Evidence Grading
Meta-analyses and randomised controlled trials receive higher citation weighting than observational studies. Study design is explicitly noted in source references.
Professional Review
Nutritional content is reviewed by qualified nutrition professionals before publication. Fitness content is cross-checked against current sports science publications.
